atvari GmbH ("we", "us") takes the protection of your personal data seriously. This privacy policy explains what data we process when you visit atvari.eu, for what purpose, and on what legal basis, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

atvari GmbH
Salzstr. 1
21335 Lüneburg, Germany

Email: hi@atvari.eu
Phone: +49 4131 2190617

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not legally required to do so.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is served as static files via Codeberg Pages, a service operated by Codeberg e.V. (Germany).

When you access the website, the hosting infrastructure processes the technical information your browser transmits, in particular:

  • IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • requested page/file and access status
  • browser type and version, operating system
  • referrer URL

This data is processed to deliver the website, to keep it stable and secure, and to detect and defend against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not combine this data with other sources in order to identify you.

Server log files are retained only for as long as necessary for these purposes, and are then deleted or anonymised.

3. Analytics (Plausible)

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service operated by Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia, EU), loaded from plausible.io.

Plausible works without cookies and without collecting personal data. There is no cross-site tracking, no user profiling, and no sharing of data with advertising networks. All data is processed and stored on servers in the European Union. We receive only aggregated, anonymised statistics (for example, number of visitors, pages viewed, and referrers).

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how our website is used so that we can improve it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Contacting us

You can reach us by email (hi@atvari.eu) or phone. When you contact us, we process the data you provide (typically your name, email address, and the content of your message) in order to answer your request.

The legal basis is the performance of a contract or the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep this data until your request has been fully handled and any statutory retention periods have expired.

The contact form on this website does not send data to our servers: it opens your own email application with the message prefilled, so nothing is transmitted until you send it.

5. Scheduling a call

Our contact page links to Proton Calendar (Proton AG, Switzerland) so that you can book an appointment. This is an external link, not an embedded widget: we transfer data to Proton only when you click through and use the service. From that point on, Proton's own privacy policy applies.

Our website contains links to external services (for example GitHub, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon, Crunchbase, and OpenStreetMap). These are ordinary hyperlinks: no data is transmitted to those providers until you click one and open their site.

7. Cookies and local storage

We do not set cookies and we do not use tracking or advertising cookies. That is why no cookie banner is shown: none is required for what we do.

For your theme preference (light/dark) we store a single entry in your browser's localStorage. It stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is used only to remember the display mode you chose. It is necessary for the function you requested.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • have your data erased (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • have processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR),
  • withdraw any consent you have given at any time (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

To exercise these rights, contact us at hi@atvari.eu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is:

Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen
Prinzenstraße 5
30159 Hannover, Germany

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example if our services or the legal situation change. The version published here is the one that applies.
