Open Source
Open source isn't an afterthought for us, it's the ground we stand on. Rust, Nix, Linux, and nearly every tool in our stack are built in the open, by communities we're part of. We treat that as a responsibility, not just a convenience: we maintain what we use, publish our own work under open licenses, and build on foundations you can inspect and reproduce.
If that's the kind of partner you want, get in touch.
Where we contribute
Nixpkgs
Our team has contributed to Nixpkgs since 2019, maintaining widely used packages and modules and keeping security-critical infrastructure patched and current.
Our own tooling
We publish our own tooling and skills under open licenses, including the source of this website. If it's useful to us, we make it useful to others.
Why open source
Secure by default
Reproducible builds and memory-safe languages eliminate whole classes of bugs, and security-sensitive software gets patched upstream instead of waiting on a vendor's release cycle.
Fully auditable
You can read the code, verify the builds, and see exactly what runs. Open standards beat black boxes when trust has to be earned, not assumed.
No lock-in
Switch, replace, or migrate any part of your stack on your own terms, without a vendor's permission.
Digital sovereignty
You stay in control of your systems and data: where they run, who can access them, and what happens if a vendor changes course.
Open by default
- We give back. Maintaining, reviewing, and sponsoring the projects we depend on is part of the job, not a favor.
- Patents, not aggression. We're a member of the Open Invention Network, supporting patent non-aggression for Linux and the open source ecosystem.
- Part of who we are. Openness runs through our values, from security by design to digital sovereignty.
